Our History
Our history begins with the inception of Perry and Keller School of Dance in the 1950's in Essex County. Perry and Keller came to Woodbridge, after twenty years of successes in Newark and East Orange, in 1971. In 1977, Perry and Keller expanded its curriculum, staff and facilities as Woodbridge Theatre of Performing Arts and Gymnastics and moved to Woodbridge. In 1984 we again expanded and opened our Middlesex school on Lincolon Boulevard in Middlesex, incorporating under the new title "Central Jersey Dance and Gymnastics". After 24 year on Lincoln Blvd. we were very happy to have found our new home right down the block on Lincoln Blvd. Extension! The Directors have all been with the schools from its very inception. Gail Keller Brescher, Owner-Director since the beginning. Experience spans decades in the United States and Europe. Rena Fleischman, Owner-Director-Instructor. N.J. Certified Educator, BA Education- Rutgers University. Began teaching in 1971. Choreographer and director of the Central Jersey Dance Company. Jay Fleischman, Owner-Director- Instructor. Along with wife, Rena, began the gymnastics program at Central Jersey in 1976. Has coached many"Springers" to the N.J. State Championships. N.J. Certified Educator, BS Health & Physical Education - West Virginia Weslyan. Certified Senior Coach, Special Olympics. 1991 and 1999 N.J. International Special Olympics Gymnastics Team Head Coach.
